Yakima is the world's largest manufacturer of roof top rack system for cars and SUVs. Their product line up consists of a mix of generic rack components and custom mounting hardware for most vehicles sold in the US. Because configuring a rack system to a particular vehicle can be a confusing experience, Yakima wanted to create an online catalog that had the intelligence to guide their customer to the appropriate parts list. Additionally, as Yakima is constantly updating their mounting hardware to match new vehicle specifications, they wanted to streamline the addition of new components to their website. Ars Datum created a completely customized content management system that allows non-technical marketing staff to easily push new products to their public website from their internal parts database. This project demonstrates our ability to integrate with internal and legacy databases, dynamic Flash components via XML data feeds, and provide comprehensive solutions tailored to a client's custom needs.
